Among the monuments of Torone belongs the castle of Lykithos, the old-Christian church of Saint Athanasios, basilica of the 5th century. The church was destroyed in 6th century giving her spot to a smaller temple that was built. During the Occupation era, the port of Porto Koufo was used from the Nazi for war purposes.
